Postoje dva nivoa imunog odgovora:   <\/span><b>uro\u0111eni imunitet<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (prva linija odbrane koja reaguje brzo i nespecifi\u010dno na bilo kakvu prijetnju) i <\/span><b>ste\u010deni imunitet<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  (ciljani odgovor koji stvara antitijela specifi\u010dna za odre\u0111eni patogen nakon kontakta). Kada sve funkcioni\u0161e kako treba, ovaj odbrambeni sistem nas \u0161titi od prehlade, gripa i ozbiljnijih infekcija, pa \u010dak i od malignih promjena na \u0107elijama. <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Me\u0111utim, imuni sistem nije neuni\u0161tiv. On zavisi od   <\/span><b>ravnote\u017ee<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  u organizmu i mo\u017ee biti oslabljen raznim faktorima. Tako\u0111er, prilikom odbrane, tijelo pokre\u0107e upalne procese kao oru\u017eje protiv infekcije \u2013 ali ako je upala hroni\u010dno prisutna (uslijed stresa ili lo\u0161e ishrane), mo\u017ee naru\u0161iti funkciju imunog sistema. Va\u017eno je razumjeti da jak imunitet zna\u010di    <\/span><b>uravnote\u017een imunitet<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: ni preaktivan (\u0161to vodi u alergije ili autoimuna oboljenja), ni preslab. Na primjer, manjak vitamina C, cinka, selena ili proteina direktno slabi odbranu organizma. Nasuprot tome, sjedila\u010dki na\u010din \u017eivota mo\u017ee doprinijeti pretilosti i slabijoj cirkulaciji, \u0161to ote\u017eava rad imunog sistema.
